Port Aransas, Mustang Island - Texas

This picture is us on the ferry that is located on one end of the island. It looks like we are driving in the water! :)

The girls posed in the giant shark!

A little closer -- again... cellphone pics. :)

We went riding on the beach! It was fantastic.

This is the birthday boy! Josiah just celebrated his 17th birthday on October 17. :)

Our beach just out behind the condo.

The boys caught tons of Whiting just off the beach. Here's a link to an online picture:

You can drive on the beach there! It was SO cool. :-D Also the local highway driving has it's own set of rules about driving on the shoulder to let people pass when they blink their lights at you.  I wish we could do that here! It was kinda fun and no more getting slowed up by people feeling in a lazy mood. ;)

Kayla's Woman.

All the pictures of me are pretty not so great, but, to prove I went to Texas... ;)

Pictures don't do justice to how beautiful I thought it was! It is so different than Florida.  I'm used to endless condos, people and rules.  Just the opposite here!

We had a cook-out with the Welkers down in the picnic area by the pool. It was beautiful. :)

We had a great hot-tub.  LtoR: Aleah, Lib, Kay holding friend Joey, Charlotte.
Kelly and Ruthie are missing. :) I thought I had them all! Oh well.

Christine and Colleen
The cook-out was perfect. :)

My bedroom view.

There were tons jelly-fish and the kids were getting stung so I didn't venture out past knee deep.

Small ferry to St. Jo Island.

The huge ships that came and left port were SO cool!

St. Jo Island - Abandoned island full of grass, sand dunes, garbage (cool garbage if I may say so) and supposedly lots of shells... but we didn't find any.

It was also home to this 6" crab that came scuttling at my bare toes!

The ships waited offshore to their turn to come into port.

Some of the "garbage"...  I wish it could talk. ;)

I wonder where this came from?

The White Moon was from Morovia, Liberia. Too cool. :) I tried to get a picture showing how the dolphins surfed the bow wave of every ship going to and from port but I didn't catch them jumping here.

It was BIG. :)

Waiting for the little ferry to come back to pick us up, we noticed the rocks along the jetty were home to tons of sea turtles! See the little speck? That is a sea turtle's nose. ;)

There are TONS of dolphins.  This is the best picture I got but there were two that jumped completely out of the water just for fun and did some flips.

Our view again.

Josiah and the rest of the guys except for Derek went deap-sea fishing. Josiah caught this 40",18lb Red-fish! It was DELICIOUS! :)

The last morning mom brought home breakfast from a German Bakery! YUM! :)
