Meet Marshmallow Smudge

Wake Robins

I found a secret place on our  farm where the Wake Robins grow by the groups of ten.... Usually we find just a few every spring; I'm a little excited.  They're so unique!

SPRING!

Actually it's been here awhile... I'll have to try to take more pictures here soon so you can see.  The girls picked flowers the other day and brought them in the kitchen and the camera was sitting on the kitchen counter soooo... at least I have a few to show you!

Birthday Girl!

It was Libby's 9th birthday March, 25th.  She spent her day at the lake house and enjoyed the water, and her lovely birthday breakfast, and presents, and dinner... and .... Yes, we love her. Actually, her mommy loves her most of all... along with rest of her spoiled brood.  At least we all get the same treatment; can't complain! :)

Heavy As A Rock...

In one of our kids story books there is a sweet story about Elizabeti and her rock doll named Eva whom she loves very, very much. Kayla recently had the idea of making her own rock doll only with the added touch of  a face...  The dolly was a hit and right away her sisters each wanted one as well.  Kayla set about making one for Libby and I (Abby) thought it was such a cool idea that I spent an afternoon out in the sunshine making Kelly's dolly; I've always wanted to try sculpting. :)
At first, the girls left them plain clay with charcoal eyes. The skin tone was rather ghastly...

So, they decided to paint their faces (they added yarn hair later)...
Kayla made the two dolls on the left, and I made the doll on the right for Kelly.

Kayla with Kelly's doll, and her own; Libby holding her baby... And yes, those babies give new meaning to the phrase, "heavy as a rock"...
